My First Fishing Experience

The first time I went fishing was with a group of my college friends. I knew nothing of fishing, then. We were six of us and only one was familiar with fishing. The purpose of me going was purely for fun and chilling out.

All ready and excited, we drove to the nearest beach. On our drive, our friend briefed us about the basics of fishing, the fishing rod, the net, the line and the bait. You can either use earthworms, other small fish, shrimps, simple bread or dough as bait. He also mentioned that it was best to go fishing during a high tide.
We reached our destination and took turns for fishing as we had only one fishing rod (poor us). We used shrimps as bait. For me just holding the rod felt great. When I first held the rod it was like wow!!!

We waited for long but nothing was happening. We were sharing jokes, munching on chips and having fun when suddenly I felt some weight. It was so sudden that I went blank. In haste I tried using force and the line broke. That was really disheartening.

My first fishing experience (though I caught no fish) definitely lit an interest for fishing in me.

Early morning fishing trip

As a kid I used to go on a fly fishing trip with my dad once or twice a year. This time I was going with my 5 cousins. I carefully packed all my fishing gears. The packing is something that I simply love doing. I didn’t forget to pack some yummy breakfast too in the morning. We left at around 4.30 am.

Wow!!! It was pleasantly cold and I could see the fog around. As we were moving towards our destination (the closest lake) each one of us were sharing some of our interesting fishing experiences and stories with each other. We finally reached the lake. The view at that time of the morning was simply breathtaking.

Seeing the small fishes jumping around, I just wanted to cast because it was quite a gap since I last went fishing. We chose our places and waited to see who catches the first fish. My cousin bro was the first to catch one and I was the second. But my fish was much bigger than his. He caught 5 fishes in 2 hours and won the competition of maximum number of fishes.

We spent hours contentedly fishing and at the same time enjoying the beauty of the sun rise. Believe me, it was so refreshing and relaxing from the stressful life.

Keeping a Fish Tank

Fish need a home. Aquariums are a place where you can see a variety of fishes and rare breeds. A trip to the local aquarium is always interesting to the young as well as old. You can have a mini aquarium in your house or office. A fish aquarium needs many accessories to set up your tank. Purchase the complete kit from pet shop and assemble the aquarium. You can have a bed of marbles and pebbles in many colors to decorate the bed of the tank. Natural pebble stones, black tourmaline stones, crystal amethyst, carnelian pieces are all ideal to be placed in the bed of the tank. Besides having some weeds and aquatic plants will add a natural feel to the aquarium. Lighting, warm temperature for tropical fishes, water pumps and aquarium dividers and containment are all necessary for an aquarium. Make sure you research proper fish tank care to make sure it stays clean because if you don't take care of your tank, your fish tank is going to get dirty and ruined and your fish will die. We don't want that to happen.

Pet Fish Tips

Fish as pets have a low maintenance cost and are very easy to manage. All you need is a fish tank and clean water for the fish to swim in. There are two types of fishes. Fresh water and salt water fishes. Fishes are available in various shapes and sizes. They are also in a variety of colors. Some breathtakingly beautiful while others are light and sober. The striped elegance of a certain kind makes you fond of this aquatic animal which is supposed to have been the first being on earth.

Now that you have decided to have a fish as your pet, just step in to a pet shop and ask for the necessities. You will be surprised that a fish is a low maintenance pet unlike cat or dog. The items required for a pet fish are aquarium, pet care medicine, pet feed, filters, air pumps, aquarium ornaments, dual-tone background posters, power head, under gravel filter, artificial soft imported aquarium plants and everything that you would need to make your pet feel at home. So, what are you waiting for? Adopt some fishes and your little ones happy with his new aquatic friends.

You get fish to look at them, and all they do....

There is a strange thing that happens when you own fish... you start to notice some odd behavior. I´ve had goldfish for years now, and they never cease to amaze me. At first you bring home your new fish is a plastic bag, pour it in your tank and watch for the magic to begin. Trust me, nothing is going to happen. They might make a zig-zag across the tank, but after that it´s floating dully somewhere in the back. Don´t worry, their just waiting for you to stop looking.

I don´t know how many hours I spent watching them, it´s fascinating to watch them swim or eat or just ´be´. But you´ll know you´ve had fish too long, when you catch them look at you.

That´s right, my little goldfish are quietly stalking me as I move around the house.

One day I was carrying something into the kitchen and a gold flash caught my eye. I turn to face the tank and my fish were just sitting there as normal. I put my things in the kitchen, came back out and I saw it again. I turned to face them, and now they were at the other side of the tank, just staring blankly at me. Was I losing my mind? Nope. The goldfish were following me across their tank, everytime I walked by. Oh look! Here comes the human, where´s the food! (At least that´s what I imagine they were thinking).

Not only do I have several dozen fishy eyes on my whenever I move around the house, I also have the distinct impression that they are completed bored. Next thing you know they´ll be knocking on their side of the glass to get me to move around more!

I'm not really sure what else to write in a first introduction post...hmmmm. oh yeah. I have like twenty. I have a tropical fish tank in my wall and a smaller fish tank with some goldfish and other fish. In my tropical fish tank, I have a small shark, which is awesome!

Also, I have two pet turtles.
